Vicus migrates webshop from Magento 1 to Magento 2
Support for Magento 1 stopped
For this family business owned by Tim van Amerongen, which has been trading fully online since 2017, Vicus made some major changes. The online legwear store had been running on Magento 1 for years. The partner at the time was going to stop supporting Magento 1 webshops. They then referred Tim and his Sokkenmarkt.nl to another party. "That turned out not to be a success" says Tim.
So how did Sokkenmark.nl end up at Vicus? By chance. Tim van Amerongen met co-owner Luuk Roovers at a meeting of a voluntary organization. "I'm with the same organization as one of the board members, that's where I met Luuk then."
Because the other partner did not like it, the switch to Vicus was quickly made. Vicus then took over the management. Sokkenmarkt.nl was also no longer satisfied with the appearance of the site. So besides the task of the online legwear store to function properly in Magento 2, there was also the task to design a new look. Vicus has also taken on this task.
From a simple website to an online store
Vicus first set to work cleaning up what the previous manager had caused. "Vicus handled this well" indicates Tim. To prevent Sokkenmarkt.nl without a working website was chosen to migrate from Magento 1 to Magento 2. It guarantees a secure website and working plug in software. The migration had a minimal impact. This means that Sokkenmarkt.nl only briefly unavailable.
A plan was also made for the appearance of the website. Within Vicus a number of employees are specialized in front end development. Following discussions with our customer the wishes have been mapped out. Vicus has presented the customer a number of options and provided the necessary information to make a good choice.
The online market stall
Where the company first stood literally with socks on a market, Sokkenmarkt.nl has grown into a full-fledged up to date web store with ditto appearance. It is capable of processing large numbers of orders from A to Z. The design gives the customer of Sokkenmarkt.nl a pleasant overview of all products on offer. Tim is satisfied with the cooperation with Vicus and the open communication.
