Contrary to many (commercially oriented) communications, your Magento 1 shop will not go offline as of June 2020. Magento corp only stops releasing new versions on the 1 platform. Also, no more bugs will be fixed and no more patches will be made.

What's up? Magento corp has stopped releasing new versions on the 1 platform. Adobe is also no longer fixing bugs or making patches.

There are certainly many advantages to switching to Magento 2. But especially in these times, it can be a (cost) consideration to just keep running on Magento 1.
