Vtiger CRM version 8.3 Q3 2024 - Google oAuth

We are pleased to announce the release of Vtiger Open Source 8.3.0 today.

This release focuses on two main aspects:

• PHP Strict Compliance: The codebase has been enhanced to ensure strict compliance with PHP standards, which helps improve performance and maintainability.
• Google OAuth2 for IMAP and SMTP: In light of Google's upcoming termination of password-based access for IMAP and SMTP (effective Sept. 30, 2024), an OAuth-based approach has been implemented in the latest master branch. This change ensures continued secure access to Google services.

To ensure a smooth transition:

• Upgrade ASAP: We strongly recommend upgrading to Vtiger 8.3.0 ASAP to maintain secure email functionality with Google.
