Vtiger LDAP authentication allows users to login with LDAP or Active Directory login credentials. It provides a 100% single sign-on solution for your users.
LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. It is an open standard protocol used to access and search information in a directory service. A directory service is a hierarchically structured database used to store and organize information about users, computers, networks, services and other resources.
LDAP is often used to manage user authentication and authorization in networks. It allows information about users and other entities to be centrally stored and accessible by various applications and systems. LDAP is a widely used protocol in business environments and is often used in conjunction with other protocols such as Kerberos for secure authentication.
When integrating systems, as in this case of Vtiger LDAP authentication, LDAP is used to store and manage user names and passwords. It allows a single set of login credentials to be used across multiple systems, making access rights management more efficient.
