Als partner van Vicus eBusiness Solutions, de eerste Magento dienstverlener in Nederland, was Clonable als online marketingbureau Wecommerce al sinds 2011 vastberaden om marktaandeel te veroveren, zelfs zonder de megabudgetten van concurrenten in de branche. Het was een tijd van strategisch denken en slimme trucs, waarin ze zich inzetten om tegen lagere kosten in te kopen en winst te behalen.

International markets for web shops

In 2017, as price wars became more frequent, they faced a challenge. Fighting along in the low prices would dramatically affect profits. So they looked for alternative solutions for online shops, such as entering international markets without excessive advertising budgets. they initially focused on capturing higher positions in Google, but soon discovered that this required a cost-effective approach, especially for niche markets such as socks in flanders.

The idea for Clonable originated in 2019, when they teamed up with our talented programmer to find a solution to this problem. By combining programming knowledge with expertise in online marketing, the concept of Clonable was born.

Automatic translation of online stores

After an intense brainstorming session in 2021, we decided to add translation capabilities to Clonable. Many of our customers had already asked us to translate their webshop content to increase their reach. This idea was received with great enthusiasm and caused a remarkable growth of Clonable. During the Webwinkel Vakdagen in Utrecht, they introduced Clonable with the translation function, which resulted in enormous interest and demand from the public. Vicus followed this up immediately with its customer sokkenmarkt.nl, which realized a quick introduction in the Flemish market (yes, in the Flemish language).

Vicus' own English-language website(vicus.eu) soon followed. Within hours, our entire website was online in the English language. Every time we make an adjustment or add an article, the English-language website is updated. Specific professional terms can be translated as desired. In no time an international reach!
